Julian commented on the partnership with UNOX:
"It feels like a lifetime since dreaming of the idea of a black chef collective, a culinary village in the heart of London and it’s incredible to now see it come to life. To be able to call Somerset House our home is unbelievable, to be able to kit out a 148 square foot kitchen with the best equipments that will allow the chefs to be creative, push boundaries and further our mission to act as a standard bearer for African Caribbean cuisine and make it known for it’s quality, skill and execution, will not be possible without partnerships like the beautiful relationship we have started with Unox and look to develop for many years to come.
They have been nothing less than amazing, from the initial conversation they believed in the vision, worked closely with us to understand our needs, understand the cooking techniques that are specific to African Caribbean cuisine and ensure that the spec of the ovens they provided us will help the chefs not only execute but explore and showcase our treasured cuisines on a global stage. Here is to many more years of working together and helping shape the future of African & Caribbean cuisines."
Scott Duncan, Managing Director of UNOX UK commented:
“As an equipment manufacturer, we don’t just focus on the ovens that we design, we also consider the teams who use them day in and day out. We don’t think there should be any barriers for people wanting to cook good food, and the work that Julian and the team at The Future Plate are doing to help support Black chefs within the industry really resonates with our own values of nurturing culinary talent. The work they do and the support they provide is absolutely fantastic. We are delighted to welcome The Future Plate as official Unox Ambassadors and we are looking forward to a great ongoing partnership.”
